Iran says Israel’s criminal actions in Gaza won’t make up for its ‘strategic defeats’

Iran has condemned Israel’s deadly strikes on schools and educational facilities in the besieged Gaza Strip, saying the attacks cannot make up for the regime's “strategic defeats”.

In a Persian-language post on X on Saturday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani hit out at Israel for “inventing feeble excuses” for its destruction of educational facilities and killing thousands of Palestinian students and school staffers over the past months.

“In nearly ten months of the Zionist regime’s brutal attack on Gaza, about 8,600 students and more than 500 teaching staff have been martyred,” Kan’ani said.

“With the closure of schools and the accommodation of refugees in educational buildings and schools, the terrorist army of the Israeli regime continues to attack these places by inventing feeble excuses.

“The criminal leaders of the Israeli apartheid regime and their Western supporters should know that none of these criminal actions can compensate for their strategic deafest against the patient and resistant nation of Palestine,” he added.

Kan’ani pointed to a recent Israeli massacre at al-Falah School in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood of the Gaza City.

At least two Palestinians were killed and five injured on Thursday in Israeli airstrikes on al-Falah School sheltering displaced Palestinian people in eastern Gaza City.

The bombing caused severe damage to the school, with witnesses saying medical and civil defense teams rushed to search for victims and the injured as a result of the Israeli attack.

“For a regime that can only commit crimes to survive, annihilation is the final and nearest destination,” he said.

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the regime’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.
